In 2024, $49,500 in scholarships were awarded. There were 13 scholarships awarded ranging from $1,000 to $8,000.

KCAF Scholarships Eligibility:
Selections are made by the Scholarship Committee, and are available to students who are sophomore or above in Fall 2025, from the Kansas City Metro area, and are pursuing architectural degree from an accredited school of architecture. Please note, applicants work will be evaluated against other applicants in the same year-level in school. Judgment for KCAF scholarships is based on need, academic excellence and demonstrated leadership. This year there are nine scholarships available ranging from $3000 to $8000.
KCAF First Year Scholarships Eligibility:
Selections are made by the Scholarship Committee, and are available to high school seniors from the Kansas City Metro area, pursuing architectural degree from an accredited school of architecture and beginning in Fall 2025. Judgment for KCAF scholarships is based on need, academic excellence and demonstrated leadership. There are two First Year Scholarships available each up to $1000.
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
Any student who completes the attached form and meets the eligibility requirements will be considered for the applicable KCAF Scholarships.
Consideration will be given for special circumstances as deemed appropriate by the committee.
A student who has been awarded a scholarship previously must reapply for the next school year.
**University of Missouri-Kansas City’s new Bachelor of Architecture program is in the process of accreditation through 2029. During this process UMKC scholarship applicants are eligible for KCAF scholarships.
Scholarships are available only to full-time residents within the geographic area of Metropolitan Kansas City, which includes the following counties in Missouri and Kansas:
Women in Design Scholarship Eligibility:
Selections are made by the Scholarship Committee, and are available to students who are sophomore or above in Fall 2025, attending Kansas or Missouri schools, and are pursuing a degree in design related fields such as Architecture/Interior Design/ Landscape Design/ Industrial Design/ Product Design. Judgment for WiD-KC scholarships is based on need, academic excellence and demonstrated leadership. Students in internship programs are ineligible for WiD-KC Scholarships during the period of the internship.
WiD-KC Scholarships are available to full-time and part-time college student residents within the geographic area of Kansas and Missouri. (Note: other scholarships administered by KCAF are limited to residents of the greater Kansas City Metro area.) Part-time is defined as a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester.
Consideration will be given for special circumstances as deemed appropriate by the committee.
A student who has been awarded a scholarship previously must reapply for the next school year.
Payment of Scholarships:
Checks payable to the student are issued in August for the fall semester. Checks will be distributed at an awards ceremony hosted by the Kansas City Architectural Foundation.
