ASAM Annual Conference Call for Poster Abstracts
ASAM members and non-members are invited to submit abstracts for poster presentations, focus sessions, and workshop sessions. ASAM encourages researchers, clinicians, physicians, professors and policymakers from diverse organizations and fields to submit.
The ASAM Annual Conference goals and objectives for accepted abstracts are:
- To present the best new scientific research available
- To present the best practices, treatments, tools, and modalities in all areas of addiction medicine
- To bring science into clinical practice
Prior to submitting an abstract, submitters, presenters, and authors should review the Call for Abstracts Information Page where you can find the full list of submission requirements, categories, topics, and abstract awards.
Review Process
Abstracts will be evaluated based on the submission criteria using a scale ranging from 0 to 4. Abstracts will be reviewed by multiple reviewers and the average score will be used to rank the priority of the presentation. Click here to see the 2023 submission rubrics.
Reviewers will also review the financial disclosures of the abstract authors in cases where there is a concern. Having a financial disclosure will NOT preclude an abstract's acceptance.
Notification Letters
All notifications of acceptance or non-acceptance will be sent by email. It is the submitter’s responsibility to ensure his/her email address is correct and current. ASAM is not responsible for notification emails not received due to incorrect contact information. Notification letters for abstract submissions received during the second Call for Abstracts period will be sent out in mid-February 2023. If you do not receive a notification email, contact the Education Department at: education@ASAM.org, to confirm acceptance or non-acceptance of your submission.
Getting Started
Please click "Create Account" below to begin a submission for the 2023 Annual Conference. Accounts do not carry over from year to year, so those who submitted for the 2020, 2021 or 2022 conferences should still create a new account for 2023.
