Symposium on Advanced Wound Care Spring (SAWC Spring) 2024 - Abstract Submission Submission Portal

SAWC Spring 2024 is now accepting late breaking abstract submissions through March 20, 2024.

The Symposium on Advanced Wound Care (SAWC) is committed to providing the highest level of clinical education and information for physicians, nurses, physical therapists, researchers, podiatrists, and dietitians involved in wound healing or wound care issues.

Late-breaking abstracts (LBAs) recognize novel, critically important research developments that occur during the lead-up to SAWC Spring. LBA submission is solely for abstracts with late-breaking data and not for abstracts submitted “late”. The late-breaking abstract deadline is not intended to be an extension of the general submission deadline. Late-breaking abstracts highlight novel and practice-changing studies, and only apply to data that would have not otherwise have been presented as an abstract at the SAWC Spring | WHS 2024 meeting. Four abstracts will be showcased during the "Late Breaking Abstracts: Bringing New Evidence to Light," session taking place Saturday, May 18th. Submit your late-breaking abstract by March 20, 2024.

Late Breaking Abstracts

A late-breaking abstract should contain new information. It may comprise:
  • either results that were not yet known, or fully available, on the regular abstract submission deadline.
  • or work that has been submitted for publication.

  • If a late-breaking abstract is not accepted, it will not be published or presented at the meeting. There is no longer an option for it to be considered as a regular abstract.

      Criteria:

Late-Breaking Abstracts will be considered for the SAWC Spring | WHS 2024 meeting if they fulfill the following criteria:
      • The topic must be of critical importance to the clinical/scientific wound healing community.
      • The abstract must report data that became available for public dissemination only after the deadline of the regular abstract submission (January 3, 2024), and has not been previously published or presented.
      • The study and results reported should be novel (not simply an extension of previously published work) or be definitive of confirming or refuting other critically important work.
      • The following categories are typically suited to the main poster sessions and will not be considered for late-breaking abstracts: case studies, reviews of existing treatments, etc.
      • LBA submission is solely for abstracts with late-breaking data and not for abstracts submitted “late”. The late-breaking abstract deadline is not intended to be an extension of the general submission deadline.

      Acceptance & Correspondence:

Please note that acceptance from a previous SAWC does not give you automatic acceptance to the current or future SAWC meetings. Each SAWC meeting requires a new submission for consideration.
      Primary Contact
All abstract communications will be sent to the primary contact/submitter. The primary contact will be responsible for notifying all authors of important details and deadlines. Please save abstractsubmissions@hmpglobal.com to your address book so that you do not miss important correspondences. Additionally, the website will be updated with any important dates or instructions. We are not responsible for any emails that are not received due to misspellings, defunct email accounts, or emails blocked from abstractsubmissions@hmpglobal.com.
      Disposition/Notification of Acceptance
Abstracts will be accepted on a competitive basis. The acceptance/rejection notification email will be sent to the primary contact. Please do not inquire about the status of your submission before the date noted at the top of this page, as no further information will be available. Prior to the meeting, all information will be forwarded to the primary contact only and they are responsible for notifying all the other authors of upcoming details.
      Intent to Present
Upon acceptance notification, SAWC will require proof of registration for all accepted abstract presenters (poster and oral/podium). After registering, it is the designated primary contact’s responsibility to mark his/her intent to present through the abstract submissions site by providing the badge number of the registered representative. The badge number can be found on your registration confirmation. Instructions on this process will be included in your acceptance email. Even though you may be registered for SAWC, intent to present must still be submitted. If the intent to present is not submitted by the date included in your acceptance email, the abstract will be withdrawn.
