Welcome to the WE25 CFP Breakout Session Submission Site

In October 2025, the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) will offer its annual, international Women in Engineering (WE) conference. WE25 will occur in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. We at SWE are committed to making this conference, like all our programming, a safe and welcoming environment for all participants. Our goals in this WE25 Call for Participation (CFP) for Breakout Sessions (Lectures, Panels, and Snap Sessions) are: to ensure effective programming and speaking opportunities are provided, and to empower attendees to succeed at every stage of their professional development.

New in 2025: SWE has aligned its CFP Submission Tracks (shown in the CFP Guidelines PDF starting on page 3) with its Leadership Competency Model, causing the elimination of the Advocacy & Collaboration track. This change in no way reflects that sessions related to Advocacy and Collaboration are no longer relevant or important; they are. However, we encourage you to consider the heart of your subject matter and the skills your session addresses, and how they relate to the new tracks. For example, does your session focus on the skills needed to change a system or process? Then select the Leading Change track. Or does your session center around a skill used in advocating with employers for the full inclusion of women and their intersectionality? If that’s the case, select the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging track. What about skills or strategies to empower students to develop their interests in STEM and support their educational growth? Pick the Developing Others track.

For further specificity, we strongly encourage you to choose a keyword from the provided list that most closely matches your content. The keyword gives us another data point to consider during the selection process to ensure a balanced schedule that is representative of the needs of our members. Furthermore, it enables us to analyze and identify trends and gaps in these needs to enhance the relevance of our programming.
