Welcome to the NANN 2024 Research Summit Submission Site

The 2024 NANN Research Summit is scheduled for September 16, 2024. The summit will be held in-person at the beginning of the NANN 40th Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida at the Hilton Orlando.

Please join us by submitting a Research Project or Evidence-Based Practice Project or proposal that you have (or will) implement and complete before August 31, 2024.

Selected individuals attend the Research Summit, supported by Reckitt Mead Johnson, to present their research or practice change outcomes and discuss the process and results with other researchers from around the country and the world!

All submissions will undergo a blind review process (i.e., the reviewers are unaware of the applicant's identity) for quality, relevance and merit by the NANN Research Committee Advisory Panel. All submitters will be notified in June 2024 regarding the status of their submission. Approximately 8 people will be selected to participate in this program. Participants will be assigned a mentor to work with and prepare for the Research Summit presentations.

This program is intended for individuals with little to no research experience and who have not presented at past Research Summits.

Participant responsibilities:
  • Meet with their assigned mentor and incorporate recommended feedback into their abstract before the Research Summit*.
  • Prepare a PowerPoint or other media presentation** to share your research or evidence-based practice project and findings during your allotted presentation.
  • Address feedback from your mentor and submit your abstract for publication in Advances in Neonatal Nursing.
  • Each participant will be allowed approximately 25 minutes for a presentation and discussion. Additional information regarding the program will be sent in conjunction with acceptance letters.
  • As funding for the Research Summit covers travel costs, participants must provide their National Provider Identifier Standard (NPI) number to comply with federal regulations.

*Mentor pairing notifications will be sent by July 31, 2024.

**It is strongly recommended that you share your presentation with your assigned mentor and receive feedback before the Research Summit.

Selected participants will receive support for their summit attendance as follows:
  • One (1) roundtrip coach or lowest-cost airfare booked through NANN's preferred travel agency. Airfare must be purchased 30 days in advance of the Research Summit.
  • Two (2) complimentary hotel nights’ accommodation at the Hilton Orlando.
  • A $100 stipend will be provided upon arrival at the Research Summit to cover incidentals.
  • A $100 discount off a full registration for the 40th Annual NANN Conference at the Hilton Orlando.
  • A possible presentation opportunity for the 40th Annual NANN Conference at the Hilton Orlando.

This program is made possible through a medical educational grant provided by Reckitt Mead Johnson.

Please note: If your abstract is accepted for the Research Summit, you are required to submit your abstract and corresponding manuscript to the NANN Journal, Advances in Neonatal Care (ANC). All ANC abstracts and manuscripts must be submitted with adherence to ANC guidelines. ANC has first right of refusal of each manuscript that is associated with the accepted abstract.

The 2024 NANN Research Summit will be an IN PERSON event. By submitting your abstract, you are agreeing to travel to Orlando, FL and present on September 16, 2024. No considerations will be made for virtual presentations.

The deadline for submission has been extended to May 20, 2024.
