The abstract character limit is 3780 (including spaces), with a minimum of 50 words, including any tables and graphs. Abstracts may be submitted for an oral, poster, or video presentation* and must include objective, methods, results, and conclusions headings. Please ensure that your submission contains significant scientific work, a major update, and/or significant follow-up on established procedures and/or research. Accepted abstract presenters will be notified in mid-December 2020.
*Submit a video to feature a surgical procedure or tip and trick. Video submissions should be no longer than 10 minutes.
NO-SHOW POLICY
On rare occasions, presenters scheduled to present their poster fail to show up and have not notified SIO of the change in plans. When presenters do not appear to present their poster, the planning efforts of the Scientific Chair and Program Committee in providing a quality program are diminished significantly, there are significant cost implications, and the audience is unnecessarily disappointed with empty poster boards. Staff will audit all posters for no shows and this may result in ineligibility for future SIO meetings.
WITHDRAWALS
Acceptance of the abstract by the review committee obligates the author to be present. If circumstances prevent attendance, the author must arrange for the poster to be presented by a substitute, preferably a co-author. If you wish to withdraw your abstract, you must submit your request in writing by Monday, 4 January 2021 to education@sio-central.org including the abstract ID, abstract title, and first author. Failure to comply may result in ineligibility for future SIO meetings abstract submissions as first author.
