Welcome to the 2024 AMUG Technical Competition Submission Portal
Thank you for your interest in submitting an entry for the Technical Competition at the 2024 AMUG Education & Training Conference in Chicago, Illinois.
Please complete the Technical Competition Submission by 11:59pm EST on Friday, February 23, 2024
The AMUG Technical Competition is the additive manufacturing industry premier showcase of applications and finishing techniques. The competition highlights both the capabilities of individual talent and company innovation.
Users may submit entries in the Advanced Concepts or the Advanced Finishing categories which will be displayed as part of the AMUGexpo. Each category is open to those with any AM technology. First, Second, and Third-place winners will be selected by a panel of judges for each category in addition to a Members’ Choice winner selected by AMUG attendee votes. An entrant may enter once in each of the Advanced Concept and Advanced Finishing categories, but the same item may not be submitted in both categories. All entries will be on display Monday and Tuesday during the AMUGexpo.
ADVANCED CONCEPTS
The Advanced Concepts category aims to recognize individuals and their organization for exemplary work utilizing additive manufacturing technologies. Entries in this category will “push the envelope” for a particular technology or a combination of technologies. These entries should showcase innovative elements of the Additive Manufacturing workflow.
ADVANCED FINISHING
The Advanced Finishing category has been created to recognize the skills and artistry applied to additive manufacturing technologies. The designers and engineers may hatch a concept, but it is often the parts finishers, model makers, painters, and others that bring a prototype or product to life. Entries in the Advanced Finishing category should showcase unique and high level of craftmanship and creativity in the post processing aspects of the model or product.
HOW TO ENTER
1. Create an account and complete the steps in the submission site. This includes the following:
2. Deliver AM part(s) for display at the AMUGexpo. Parts should be hand-carried or shipped (to your attention) to the hotel prior to the Technical Competition. The Technical Competition Committee will reach out to you with details regarding setup, display, judging, and photography.
3. As an AMUG attendee, we require that you be present when the Technical Competition Winners are announced on Thursday morning at the AMUG Conference.
JUDGING AT THE CONFERENCE
A panel of judges made up of “DINO Award” recipients (DINO - Distinguished INnovator Operator), will be selected from those attending the AMUG conference. To help the judges select the award winners, entrants must provide complete documentation describing how the entry meets the above criteria. A title and description of the part(s) must also be included. Be specific and detailed.
On behalf of AMUG, thank you!
We appreciate your support and look forward to a great event!
