The Federation of Clinical Immunology Societies (FOCIS) invites you to submit an abstract to FOCIS 2025. Take advantage of the opportunity to share your science with the FOCIS community and have your work reviewed by experts in the field. All abstracts must be submitted electronically through the submission site by the appropriate deadlines.
Submission Fee
Only the presenting author may submit an abstract. There is a $30 non-refundable submission fee per abstract. The submission fee is waived for presenting authors who are FOCIS members (please use your individual FOCIS membership ID). Abstract submission fees will not be refunded to presenting authors who become a FOCIS member after submitting an abstract.

Submission Deadlines
The abstract submission deadline is Wednesday, January 15, 2025, 11:59 p.m. ET. Submitted abstracts will be considered for oral or poster presentation. Revisions to the abstract may be made by Wednesday, January 15, 2025, 11:59 p.m. ET, at which time it will be locked and sent for review.
Submission Guidelines and Instructions
Presenting authors must submit the abstract and must be prepared to present the abstract at FOCIS 2025 should it be accepted. Posters will not be allowed without an accompanying presenter.
Abstracts that have been or will be published before their presentation at the FOCIS meeting may not be submitted. Exception: If additional data/research is added to a previously published abstract, the abstract may be submitted.
All presenting authors must submit a completed disclosure form. If a disclosure form is not submitted by the presenting author by the submission deadline, the abstract may be withdrawn.
During abstract submission, presenting authors may indicate their preference for an oral or poster presentation format.
Graphic elements, such as charts, pictures, etc., should not be included in the abstract submission and will not be considered.
Please review your submission carefully. No revisions, including author revisions and/or new data, will be accepted after the deadline.
Abstract Review Process and Placement
After the submission deadline, completed abstracts will each be blinded and peer-reviewed by three members of the Abstract Review Committee. The Abstract Review Committee has sole discretion regarding the placement of abstracts within the FOCIS 2025 program.
Submitted abstracts will be selected for either a short oral presentation, or a poster presentation, or they are rejected. Oral presentations are scheduled into the FOCIS 2025 program on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday afternoon. Oral presentations are allotted a maximum of 15 minutes, with 10 minutes for the presentation and an additional 5 minutes allotted for questions and discussion.
Poster presentations are scheduled into a poster session. They are held Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings.
Acceptance/Rejection Notification
FOCIS will notify the presenting author of the status of their abstract at the end of March 2025. It is the presenting author’s responsibility to notify all co-authors.
FOCIS 2025 Registration
Selected presenting authors must register for FOCIS 2025 by April 4, 2025, for the abstract to be included in the abstract supplement and scheduled into the program.
Register for FOCIS 2025 on the FOCIS website. If the abstract's presenting author does not receive an abstract status notification by the dates listed above, please contact the FOCIS Executive Office at info@focisnet.org.
Submission or acceptance of an abstract does not automatically register the presenting author for FOCIS 2025 or ensure hotel accommodations. All presenting authors are required to register, pay the appropriate registration fees, and arrange hotel accommodations. Abstract presentation dates will be finalized in May, so presenting authors should plan to attend the entire FOCIS 2025 Annual Meeting.
Withdrawals
A withdrawal request can only be made by the presenting author and must be submitted via email to info@focisnet.org. All withdrawal requests must include the following: 1) Abstract Submission Number; 2) Abstract Title; 3) Presenting Author’s Name.
If the presenting author of an accepted abstract is not registered by the dates listed above, the abstract will be withdrawn, and will not be included in the final program or abstract supplement.
Travel Awards
Travel awards are available to FOCIS members only who submit an abstract and are chosen for an oral presentation at FOCIS 2025. Abstracts selected for poster presentations only are not eligible for travel awards. The number and amount of the awards are based upon several factors, including geographic location, placement of abstracts within the FOCIS program, and funds available.
Per the FOCIS Travel Award Reimbursement Policy, all receipts submitted for reimbursement must be itemized.
Registration expenses and poster printing are not eligible expenses for reimbursement.
