Welcome to the ASAM Annual Conference Call for Poster Abstracts!
Goals & Objectives
ASAM members and non-members are invited to submit abstracts for poster presentations ONLY. ASAM encourages young investigators, researchers, clinicians, and physicians from diverse organizations and fields to submit.
The ASAM Annual Conference goals and objectives for accepted poster abstracts are:
- To present the best new scientific research available
- To present the best practices, treatments, tools and modalities in all areas of addiction medicine
- To bring science into clinical practice
Prior to submitting an abstract, submitters, presenters, and authors should review the Call for Abstracts Information Page where you can find the full list of submission requirements, categories, topics, and abstract awards.
Review Process
Abstracts will be evaluated based on the submission criteria using a scale ranging from 0 to 4. Abstracts will be reviewed by multiple reviewers and the average score will be used to rank the priority of the presentation. Session submissions will be scored on the following criteria: Contribution to Discipline; Session Plan/Teaching Methods; Purpose; Applicability; and Quality of Writing. Poster submissions will be scored on the following criteria: Contribution to Discipline; Purpose; Methods; Results; Conclusions & Implications; and Quality of Writing. Reviewers will also review the financial disclosures of the abstract authors in cases where there is a concern. Having a financial disclosure will NOT preclude an abstract's acceptance.
Notification Letters
All notifications, of acceptance or non-acceptance, will be sent by email to the abstract submitter. It is the submitter’s responsibility to ensure their email address is correct and current. ASAM is not responsible for notification emails not received due to incorrect contact information.
All abstract presenters will be asked to confirm receipt of their notification email and officially accept the invitation to present their abstract. If you do not receive a notification email by February 11, 2022, contact the Education Department, education@asam.org, to confirm acceptance or non-acceptance of your submission.
Please click "Create Account" below to begin a submission for the 2022 Annual Conference. Accounts do not carry over from year to year, so those who submitted for the 2019, 2020 or 2021 Conferences should still create a new account for 2022.
